Cottontail - Adop Pending (1319)

old Female Hound Mix
I've been at ARC for

Weight: 64.4 Pounds

My story:

Cottontail and her sister, Bunny, originally were brought to ARC in 2012, with their brother, Thumper. Thumper was adopted by himself, and the two girls were adopted together. Bunny and Cottontail made their way with their adopter to South Carolina, but in 2018, they were surrendered to a shelter there. Fortunately, since their microchip still listed ARC in its history, the South Carolina shelter contacted us to let us know what happened. In quite typical fashion, we decided to go get these hounds and give them a second chance at a forever home.

Bunny has since been adopted, but Cottontail is still here with us. As often happens with larger breed dogs, Cotton suffered an injury to both of her anterior cruciate ligaments. Since we always go to any length to take care of our residents, she has had both surgically repaired by a veterinary orthopedist. She is finishing up her last month or so of recovery and rehabilitation, and will be available to find her forever home soon. Feel free to come out and meet her! She’ll steal your heart.

My ideal home:
