I've been at ARC for

Weight: 47 Pounds

My story:

Delaney is a beautiful, sweet girl.  She came to ARC in 2012.  We transferred her in from a rescue in Collier County.  She was originally found in the Everglades in horrible, malnourished condition.  The Collier rescue got her weight back up, but when she came to us, she was heartworm positive, a potentially deadly condition.  ARC aggressively treated Del for her heartworms, and today she is quite healthy in that respect.

Delaney does suffer from fairly bad arthritis.  She is on a number of daily medications to provide her relief.  She is also undergoing acupuncture treatment on a weekly basis.

Based on her medical situation, Delaney is considered "Special Needs".  For this reason, she would only be available to either Foster or Foster-to-Adopt.  The main benefits to Fostering are that ARC continues to pay for all of her medical care and medications, and Del get to live in a home!  This also opens up a space at the shelter to save another dog.

Delaney gets along well with most dogs, and is very loyal and affectionate to the people she's gotten to know.  She loves going for walks with her lodge mate Grant, and looks forward to a nice treat afterwards.  Won't you consider becoming her new Foster home?  Apply here, if interested!
