My story:

Kelly is a special needs little dog.  She was transferred to ARC from Lee County Domestic Animal Services.  This sweet older girl never should have ended up in a shelter at her age, in her condition.  She is blind, or nearly blind, and was probably quite frightened in such an unfamiliar environment.  Like many dogs that we get from LCDAS, we do not know much of her backstory.  But, one thing we are certain of, is that this special girl needs a very special home.  Since she is blind, she needs a quiet stable family that will tend to her needs, and watch out for her.  She may do well with another dog that is gentle with her, and acts as a bit of a guide.  Blind dogs can adapt surprisingly well, with the right support from a family.  Is your family special enough to take in this special girl?

My ideal home:

I am a special needs puppy... I need a special, patient and loving home.
