My story:

This BEAUTIFUL girl was recently the Guest of Honor at our 2018 Starlight Auction, our annual major fundraiser. Mishka came to us as an owner surrender in August of 2018. She had a very large tumor growing on her shoulder that her former owner had not seen to. Our own medical staff removed the tumor, but unfortunately, cancer remained in the margins of her incision. It was decided that the best thing to do to heal this little girl, was to amputate her front left leg from the shoulder down. It was her only chance at a cancer-free life.

Now, after months of rehabilitation, Mishka is finally getting around very well on three legs. She has not adjusted well to shelter life, though. She is withdrawn at times, and we know she would be much happier in a Foster or permanent home. Please consider submitting a Foster Application for this beauty, as we’d like to monitor her progress in a home before officially adopting her out. Alternatively, please consider making a Donation towards her medical expenses. Her surgeries and rehabilitation were very costly! Thank you!
