Become a Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Animal Refuge Center! ARC, a for-impact volunteer organization and sanctuary, provides a clean, safe, no-kill environment for cats and dogs within the Lee County area and actively seeks their adoption to qualified individuals. Through public education and an active spay and neuter program, ARC strives to reduce the number of unwanted animals in the community.

Volunteering at an animal sanctuary can be a challenging and rewarding experience. Each person is an integral piece for the overall success in our mission to shelter dogs and cats until we are able to find them forever homes. We are also here to educate the public about humane treatment of companion animals and the importance of spaying and neutering.

Benefits to Volunteers:

The current volunteers at ARC are a special group of people. They give relentlessly of their time, energy and resources to ARC; without them we could not be what we are today.  We feature a new volunteer on our website as a way to say ‘thank you’ for all of the hard work and sweat equity that goes into volunteering at ARC. THANK YOU.

JOHN SMITH

John Smith has been a volunteer at ARC for over 8 years. He works with both the dogs and the cats and is never picky about where he is assigned. He has given of his time at events, resources through donations, and sweat equity through his work on various maintenance issues on the buildings at ARC. John has been an integral part of our organization.

“There is no greater joy that I could get than what I get from volunteering at ARC. The sanctuary is truly remarkable. The animals live in the best environment they could live in just short of finding their own home. I am VERY proud to be a part of this organization and look forward to many more years volunteering at ARC.”
