Foster an Animal

If you have space in your home to help when emergencies arise, the shelter would be thrilled. We are often looking for foster homes for nursing mothers- both cats, and dogs, which, of course involves having ‘infants’ temporarily living with you.

These are truly rewarding and challenging situations. We also often need foster homes for animals that need a ‘quiet’ time to get over having lost their human companion or family.

Some animals also need time to rebound from a traumatic situation such as abuse, hunger or general neglect. “If you feel you would like to be one of these “everyday heroes” for ARC’s animals, please call the shelter at 239-731-3535 or select the contact ARC button on our web-site and submit your questions. An ARC representative will discuss further details with you.”

Hello, I was wondering what I need to do to become a foster for you. I’ve fostered for my local humane society in Maryland for 4 years, and when I moved here I’ve fostered for a small rescue for cats. But I am willing to do kittens, mom and kittens, and puppies. Please let me know. Thanks!

There is a foster an animal section on our website. I will also send your email to our Shelter Director and have her contact you. Thank you for considering ARC.
