But, quality food and a clean and safe environment that is stress free can give him the lifespan of a cat without FIV. At one time it was widely thought that cats like Jo Jo should live in a home with only other FIV cats or worse, put to sleep. But FIV is transmitted from cat to cat only through sexual activity or deep muscle wounds. Jo Jo is neutered and way too friendly to fight so a cat like him can live a long and peaceful life in a multi-cat household.
Fear of the unknown use to isolate cats with FIV but education now gives Jo Jo (and many others) a chance.

Daniels and Parkway were litter mates and came to ARC together. Even though they can certainly go to different homes, it would be wonderful if they could stay together. They are both a little shy with strangers. Once they get to know someone, they are friendly and affectionate. They both get along great with all the cats in their cottage and also do well with dogs.
