"Jo Jo"
Name: Jo Jo
Special Needs
Jo Jo was born with FIV, an immune deficiency that can compromise his defense against diseases. But, quality food and a clean and safe environment that is stress free can give him the lifespan of a cat without FIV. At one time it was widely thought that cats like Jo Jo should live in a home with only other FIV cats or worse, put to sleep. But FIV is transmitted from cat to cat only through sexual activity or deep muscle wounds. Jo Jo is neutered and way too friendly to fight so a cat like him can live a long and peaceful life in a multi-cat household.
Fear of the unknown use to isolate cats with FIV but education now gives Jo Jo (and many others) a chance.
Visit www.thecatsite.com and consult with your veterinarian to see if you would be comfortable incorporating an FIV cat (or two) into your household.

ARC is now offering a $6.00 adoption fee for any cat SIX YEARS or older! Imagine if you were an older orphan, waiting for a home and were being passed up because of your age. PLEASE CONSIDER ADOPTING A CAT TODAY.
It’s not uncommon for cats to live 20 years or longer! Senior cats over the age of six can provide you with many years of love and companionship. Be a hero and adopt a senior cat today.

Top 10 Reasons to Adopt a Senior Cat
- Senior cats are already litter trained. A kitten may not know “where to go”.
- A senior cat’s personality has already developed so you’ll know if he or she is a good fit for your family.
- You’ll know exactly how much cat you’re getting. A senior cat won’t grow any larger.
- Senior cats have the attention span and impulse control to make them easier to train than kittens.
- Senior cats are easier to take care of and don’t require as much attention as kittens. Great if you work and can’t be home during the day.
- A senior cat might be better with small children because it’s not fragile like a kitten. Older cats aren’t as likely to scratch or bite.
- Older cats are calmer than kittens and adapt more easily to a new environment.
- A senior cat isn’t going to try to climb your curtains and shred your furniture like a kitten might.
- A senior cat likes to cuddle, would make a great lap cat and would love to join you for a nap!
- With ARC’s greatly reduced adoption fee, for the month of June you can adopt a senior cat over the age of six for just $6.00! Our senior cats have been spayed or neutered, are up-to-date on all shots, flea preventative and have been micro-chipped.
Name: Kovu
Age: About 8
Good With: Adults, older children,cats.
Special Needs Animal
Doogie, Jo Jo, and Kovu have Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV).
FIV compromises a cats immune system and can be transmitted from cat to cat through sexual activity or deep muscle wounds. At one time it was widely thought an FIV positive cat would need to live in a home with only other FIV cats. But statistics show that if all cats are spayed and neutered and there are no severe fights going on, that an FIV cat can live a long and peaceful life in a multi-cat household.
Visit the following link www.thecatsite.com and consult with your veterinarian and see if you would be comfortable incorporating an FIV cat into your household.
Please consider taking one of our adorable FIV felines into your home as a loving companion.
