Red: From Hurricane to Happy
In November of last year, ARC was involved in a mass intake effort that we called, “The Carolinas Rescue Effort.” In September of 2015, Hurricane Joaquin ravaged the Carolinas, displacing hundreds of dogs and cats. In cooperation with Brother Wolf Animal Rescue, ARC took in 26 animals, 15 cats and 11 dogs, from South Carolina. These animals had occupied a shelter there for some time, and with the mass influx of flooding-displaced animals, were now in danger of being euthanized to make space. One of these dogs, was a beautiful fellow named Red. Like most of the dogs we took in during this effort, Red was extremely sweet and friendly. In fact, most of our Carolina dogs found new homes here in Florida in record time! Red spent just over two weeks at ARC before being promply adopted by the Lagana family. As you can see, he now lives a pretty horrible life! He loves spending time on the boat with his new family. He found a young, active home, and is loved so very much by the family that gave him a chance.
